| Something very disturbing has recently happend. An American radio
station Hot 97 in New York City aired a song about the tsumani...
A few lyrics included:
"..All at once you could hear the screaming chinks
and no one was safe from the wave
there were africans drowning, little chinamen swept away
you could hear god laughing, "swim you bitches swim"
So now you're screwed, it's the Tsunami
you better run or kiss your ass away, go find your mommy
I just saw her float by, a tree went through her head
and now the children will be sold to child slavery..."

VERY DISTURBING!!!
Statement from WQHT-FM, HOT 97
New York City
- Miss Jones and the HOT 97 Morning team have been indefinitely
suspended for the airing of a song that made light of a catastrophic
event, as well as comments made at the time the song was aired.
Earlier
this week, Miss Jones said on the air "I apologize to all who have been
offended by my poor decision to go along with playing that insulting
(to say the least) Tsunami song. I should have known better and I
didn't. So I'm sorry and hopefully we can move forward from this, or I
can move forward from this being a better hostess, because I am better
than that, and I know better than that -- and you deserve better radio
than that."
While Miss Jones has
apologized on the air, in the media and on the HOT 97 website, station
management felt that stronger action was necessary to demonstrate the
severity of the situation.
Emmis Radio
and HOT 97 will not tolerate such derogatory and racially insensitive
content. This incident in no way reflects the spirit of HOT 97. The
station has a long-time and well-known reputation for community
involvement and support.
Emmis Radio
President Rick Cummings said, "What happened is morally and socially
indefensible. All involved, myself included, are ashamed and deeply
sorry. I know the members of the morning show are truly contrite. They
know their actions here are inexcusable."
We would like to
clarify that no company advertising on our station had any connection
to the Tsunami Song and no company advertising on our station endorsed
or sponsored the offensive material aired on the "Miss Jones in the
Morning" show. We apologize for any misunderstanding that may have
caused listeners to believe that anyone, other than the morning show
staff, was responsible for the material that should not have been aired.

| WOW, is it ever good to be back! I know you guys have missed me out there. I'll try and write more often, I'm just lazy!
Are you curious as to what has been going on with me? Well, its the new year right, 2005 is going to something special...no resolutions since I know myself better then anyone else, and the reason is...I know I won't keep them (LOL)! This year isn't going to be a drag, I have things I have to accomplish, things I have to do, and people I am going to bang (just joking!!) So ya...thats about it. So far it has started off well. Things were really rough for me during the holidays, lots on my mind, but its going to be ok. *sigh*
Tomorrow...Friday January 14th I am leaving for the USA!! Portland Maine, as well as NewMarket/Bar Harbour New Hampshire with Mina and one of her parents. We depart from her home at 4am!! OMG :( We'll be back Tuesday Janurary the 18th...don't miss me too much now. What a road trip this is going to be! We are both very excited but dreading the 10 hour drive out there. I'll be sure to take pictures!
Ok folks, thats all for now, I'm exhausted, all these late nights planning the trip with mina and her parents has drained me out! Check back later!

| HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANG!
Get wasted!
Damn, I haven't written an entry in here for a long ass time. But,
there isn't anything new with me to brag about. As for my weekend, I
have a crazy one planned out...My friend is coming up here with his
boyz and girlz this weekend, all the way from Rochester NY! The plan
is, to check into our hotel rooms, dinner and then party the night
away. The one thing I am dreading, is the fact that my friend plans on
getting me wasted.
rena + Alcohol x good day = rowdy & wild
rena + alcohol x bad day = Violent
Hopefully, it will be a good day, I don't want to throw down in a club lol
I'll most likely have pictures taken....here is a link to my pictures
online, check them out everyone once and a while guys, I'm always
updating!

| You know, my father is a quiet man. He keeps things to himself, he
never complains about anything except for my eating habits (what can I
say, I love to eat!). All he does is work, plays soccer in a Laotian
soccer league, and never fills up my gas tank when its on empty after
taking my car out. Who would have thought he would ever consider going
to a night club? Its all because his friend Pon came up here with his
girlfriend Marilyn earlier this week. They are staying with our family
for 2 weeks and they want to have some fun on their vacation. My father
hasn't seen his friend in 30 years! So I guess you can say they both
have a lot of catching up to do.
Well, it came as a shock the other day when my dad asked me to take him
and his friends local nightclub. At first I thought he was just pulling
my leg and mocking me, but when they all got dressed...I felt like
dying!
So off we went, three 47+ year olds and a 22 year old walking into Big
Bucks night club here in St. Catharines. They baught rounds of drinks.
When I got my first round, my dad gave me the dirtiest look! I then set
the beer down and said in a sarcastic tone..."No, I don't drink". But
as soon as my dad turned away, i grabbed the bottle and booked it too
the dancefloor so he couldn't find me! lol All he did was play
pool with his friend, and I took Marilyn to the dancefloor to shake dat
booty!
When it was time to go home, my dad was the last to finish his beer. I
was chanting and pounding my fists on the table saying, "Chug it, chug
it chug it!" My dad wouldn't chug he just smiled and said he can't
finish it....WEAK ASS! So i took the bottle and chugged it all myself.
My dad and his friend just laughed. I thought when I got home, that he
would whoop my ass, but he didn't!
DAMMIT!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I LEFT MY DIGITAL CAMERA AT HOME ON THIS NIGHT! *rips out hair*
Moral of the story,...don't chug beers, BAD HANGOVER the following day! | | |
